“… I want you to know that there is no exercise more beneficial for the soul than that of hardships, because it enlightens, disillusions, and turns the human heart away from earthly things, and draws it toward the Lord, who comes to meet it; for His Divine Majesty is found with the afflicted, delivers them, and protects them.”
